Enamel Rhinestone
can someone explain me the following jewelry terms?
Silvertone-plated brass
Silver-plated brass
Silvertone metal
Goldtone
Gold-plated metal
pave rhinestones
Pearlized bead
enamel
are the above good materials to make jewelry? better than sterling silver?
anything plated is just covered with something else so Silvertone-plated brass and Silver-plated brass is just brass covered with silver. silver tone metal means just a metal that is silver colored. Gold tone refers to a gold color not real gold though. Gold plated means that only the outside is gold. Pave rhinestones means that the outside is covered in rhinestones example http://www.juicycouture.com/shoponline/accessoriesjewelry/jewelry/necklaces/prodY05W3.
pearlized bead means that its a bead that looks like a pearl. enamel is just a glossy cover over the metal like http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/Item.aspx?fromGrid=1&sku=GRP03231&mcat=148204&cid=563629&search_params=s+5-p+1-c+563629-r+-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+0-t+
umm most things plated arent as nice as sterling silver unless its gold around 14k but its still not bad
